About This Game In some platformers you die a lot. Not because you are being killed by things you could not possibly know - you perfectly know what's what but you still can't pull off the moves. In some platformers you spend 10 minutes on a level that can be passed in under 15 seconds. You might look at SLIDE's footage and think that it's an easy game. But you would be wrong. SLIDE is a hardcore 2d platformer where you run, jump and (often) die. No enemies, no blowing stuff up. What makes this game stand out - for better or worse - is a system of contextual jumps which allows to perform dozens of jumps simply by combining direction keys with the "jump". You can even jump down. This feature not only makes for a unique paltforming experience but also adds a puzzle element where you need to figure out what jumps are available to you and which ones to perform in certain situations. 7aa9394dea Title: SLIDE: platformerGenre: Indie, Early AccessDeveloper:APAS gamesPublisher:APAS gamesRelease Date: 16 Jul, 2015 SLIDE: Platformer Download Exe File I highly recommend this game. I've played about an hour total and want people to know about it.It doesn't quite fit the cliche of a simple to pick up yet deep platformer. It is more of a skilled puzzle platformer from the get go and it took me a bit of time to adjust to the controls. Experiment and be patient and you'll be into it in no time (if you like difficult platformers). I played just under an hour according to my stats and reached level 10 maybe? Bite sized levels similar to super meat boy. Much more challenging than meat boy, although the more I get used to controls it may become easier. If you're worried its too puzzle oriented and not skill based enough, don't worry as you need more skill to see through the execution of your path. The introduction of new controls (new jumps etc) is beautifully introduced in the context of the level you're in. Experiment. Die. Think some more. Execute poorly but realise you have the right idea. Sucessfully execute. Reward. Next level. I recommend to people who enjoy n+, meat boy, fenix rage, life of pixel, etc.. This game is a UUP (Unity-Used-Properly)How was this game released almost three years ago and has never gotten positive attention? The design reminds me of the Edmund McMillen game "The End Is Nigh" that released last year (2017), although SLIDE´s controls take way longer to get into. I just bought "SLIDE: platformer" and played for about 1 1/2 hours, only getting to Level 7 and without being frustrated! No game does that (now I stopped playing though because my left thumb hurts like hell and I might consider seeing the doctor). When I get back I will certainly find a way to continue. 5$ is a great price for this, cannot wait till I reach the exiting looking areas shown in the trailer video.Recommended!EDIT: Played almost 3 hours (got to Level 9) at this point and the controls still don´t feel comfortable. Especially the jumping/sliding up and down feel like they happen completely random, don´t even wanna know how a person with bigger fingers feels about this.
